West Ham United Want To Sign This Manchester United Outcast: Will He Be A Good Signing For The Hammers?

West Ham United face a tricky stretch this winter. The team still searches for balance under Nuno Espírito Santo. Their attack looks blunt, as Niclas Fullkrug struggles for rhythm and Callum Wilson hasn’t played a single minute.

The East London club now looks for ways to add spark to their frontline. Other reports revealed that West Ham United want to sign Endrick on loan, showing how determined they are to reshape their attacking options before the second half of the season. At the same time, other reports revealed that Ward-Prowse now looks unlikely to stay at the club beyond January. This situation adds another layer of uncertainty to a squad already needing new ideas and depth.

West Ham target Joshua Zirkzee as Manchester United consider a January exit; Nuno seeks attacking reinforcements amid struggles

Journalist Pete O’Rourke reported for Football Insider that Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee plans to leave in January. The 24-year-old has barely featured under new boss Ruben Amorim. He has played less than 90 minutes of Premier League football this season.

Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, and Matheus Cunha have all moved ahead of him in the pecking order, pushing Zirkzee out of favour at Old Trafford. Inter Milan, Juventus, and Como continue to monitor him closely after showing interest in the summer.

Now, West Ham have joined the chase and want to strengthen their attack as they continue to struggle for goals. Nuno’s side, short on fluency in the final third, views Zirkzee as a player who can add both creativity and hold-up play. The Dutchman’s age and technical ability attract West Ham, who rebuild under a new manager who values flexibility and structure.

Could Zirkzee be the right signing for Nuno’s West Ham?

It remains too early to judge whether Joshua Zirkzee will flourish under Nuno Espírito Santo. However, his profile matches several aspects of the manager’s tactical vision. Nuno usually sets his team up compactly and hits on the counter. He relies on quick transitions and smart link-up play.

Zirkzee, strong in the air and confident dropping deep, can combine well with attackers like Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paquetá. He can create chances from deeper positions and link attacks effectively. The 24-year-old’s energy when pressing fits Nuno’s defensive style, making him suitable for a counter-attacking setup.

Yet his Premier League spell so far hasn’t inspired full confidence. He scored only seven goals in 49 matches for Manchester United, which raises doubts about his consistency and ability to handle the league’s physical nature. If Nuno wants a clinical striker to lead the line, Zirkzee may not fit that role.

However, if Nuno aims to build a fluid and dynamic front three, Zirkzee’s awareness and first touch can make him valuable. Nuno’s system and trust will decide how much Zirkzee can contribute. The Dutchman must find consistency and belief to make his mark in English football again.
