LAFAYETTE, LA. (KLFY) — News 10’s Athlete of the Week featured senior volleyball star, Ava Hebert.

“And they have powerful hitters. So I knew that, like if they were given the ball that they would probably like get the kill. So I knew that when we had the ball, we had to make sure that we put it down.” Ava Hebert said
The middle blocker averages 3 kills per set, and tallied a career high 26 kills in that big win.
It’s a performance, Rebels Coach Terry Hebert knows she can deliver on a nightly basis.
” She has a connection with A.C., kind of like a receiver and a quarterback. You know, it’s fun to watch.” Terry Hebert said. “She’s really she’s lost a lot of that apprehension and that tentativeness when she makes a mistake. You know, she understands now that she’s pretty good. And I think she understands that if she makes an error or two, that, you know, that’s part of the game.”
Ava expects this team to continue to grow, as the season wears on, and the games become more and more meaningful.
