Lil’Jordan Humphrey made sure Texas football was well-represented under the Thursday night lights, helping the move the chains in a prime-time showdown with the . Humphrey, a Southlake Carroll and University of Texas product, was promoted from the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of the Giants vs. Eagles game on Thursday.

While attending Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, Texas, Humphrey played both running back and wide receiver for the powerhouse Dragons football program. Highly recruited out of high school, Humphrey received scholarship offers from Texas, Wisconsin, California, Iowa, Ole Miss, Oregon State, Texas Tech, UCF, and Washington before committing to the University of Texas to play college football.

During his time at Texas, he appeared in ten games as a true freshman in 2016 and recorded two receptions for 15 yards. Each year at Texas showed progress. As a sophomore in 2017, he played in 12 games with six starts and had 37 catches for 431 yards and one touchdown. Humphrey’s junior season was a breakout campaign, as he amassed 86 catches for 1,176 yards and nine touchdowns—making him one of just nine players in Texas history with a 1,000-yard receiving season.

Since declaring for the NFL draft in 2019, he has played for the , , , and New York Giants. For the Giants, Jaxson Dart and Humphrey had an outstanding game, leading the Eagles by double digits late in the fourth quarter.
