Georgia football vs Auburn injury report

The Georgia Bulldogs have at least for players out for their Oct. 11 trip to play the Auburn Tigers.

The Auburn Tigers are healthier that the Georgia Bulldogs entering the Georgia-Auburn game. Auburn only has two players out for the Georgia game while the Bulldogs have at least four players that will miss the contest and possibly more.

No. 9 Georgia (4-1, 2-1 SEC) plays Auburn (3-2, 0-2 SEC) in a primetime Saturday night game. The Bulldogs did get some good injury news ahead of the Auburn game. Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Hall left the Kentucky game with a patellar tendonitis injury, but did not appear on the SEC availability report.

Auburn has a pair of injuries to contributors on offense. The Tigers will be without receiver Horatio Fields (12 receptions for 106 yards and a touchdown) and running back Durell Robinson (three carries for 57 yards and a touchdown).

Georgia coach Kirby Smart said that offensive lineman Earnest Greene "is working out with us this week and trying to recover" ahead of the Auburn game. "(Left tackle Monroe Freeling) has an ankle (injury), but it's probably not as severe as we thought," Smart added on Freeling." He's not having any kind of surgery or anything, and, you know, we're hopeful to get him back this week. We'll just have to wait and see... there's a chance he can go (against Auburn)."

Georgia's most important injuries are to starting offensive linemen Earnest Greene and Monroe Freeling, who are both questionable. Greene is an All-SEC selection that usually starts at right tackle, but has a lower body injury. If Greene and Freeling can't play, then expect for Georgia to start freshman Juan Gaston at right tackle and Dontrell Glover at right guard. The Bulldogs played Bo Hughley at left tackle with Freeling out against Kentucky.

Georgia wide receiver Talyn Taylor suffered an upper body injury in practice ahead of the Kentucky game. Taylor's injury required surgery and he's out for the Auburn game. It is unclear how long he is out.

Georgia freshman receiver Thomas Blackshear (groin) and redshirt freshman offensive lineman Malachi Toliver are both still out. Neither player has played a big role for the Dawgs. Georgia tight end Ethan Barbour suffered a serious ankle injury in the Austin Peay game and is out indefinitely.
