With the going nowhere fast in 2025, it was inevitable that analysts would start speculating about a Maxx Crosby trade.

Crosby has expressed frustration with the franchise on several occasions after so much losing and dysfunction over the years, and that has led many to believe he could demand a trade if things don't change.

There was hope the Raiders would turn things around after Pete Carroll was hired but that has not happened and instead the Raiders are off to a worse start in 2025 than they had in 2024.

Knowing that, it wouldn't be shocking if Crosby asks out of Las Vegas in search of greener pastures, although it remains to be seen if the Raiders would oblige. Crosby is also very loyal to the Raiders, so he might not want to leave.

Former general manager Mike Tannenbaum is kicking off the trade speculation with the Raiders sitting at 1-4 through five games and proposes a trade with the that would net Las Vegas second- and fourth-round selections.

With the Buccaneers sitting at 4-1, they should be aggressive in improving their roster by any means necessary. Adding an edge rusher should be a top priority, as Tampa Bay has just 10 sacks in five contests.

It goes without saying that Crosby would be just what the doctor ordered, as the Raiders star is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL.

Crosby only has two sacks this season, but his 19 pressures rank 20th in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus, and he has posted double-digit sacks three times. Crosby had 7.5 in what was an injury-plagued 2024 campaign that saw him play injured and appear in 12 games.

All that said, if the Raiders are going to deal Crosby, they better get more than the package Tannenbaum proposes or else fans will revolt.

Any deal for Crosby should start with a first-round pick or else the Raiders should say no. You simply cannot trade away the face of the franchise for anything less than a deal that starts with a premium pick.

From there, the Raiders would need to get another pick in the top half of the draft or a young player who can help them build for the future.

While we wouldn't rule out Crosby getting traded, ultimately we believe the Raiders will hold on to him.
