Troost-Ekong says Nigeria won't show Benin any mercy
Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong remains resolute: the Super Eagles are determined to secure their spot at the 2026 World Cup. There will be no favors handed out to the Benin Cheetahs next Tuesday.
After their 2-1 victory over Lesotho, the defender praised the opposition but called on his teammates to raise their game:
Lesotho played well, it wasn't easy. But now, it's all about Benin. We have to win, and do it with conviction.
Ekong assures that the team is ready for this final challenge:
We know the pressure. We've been working for this since the start of the qualifiers. We want to finish the job.
The message is clear: Nigeria is aiming for victory and nothing less on home soil.
