Stanford cornerback Aaron Morris was reportedly alert and responsive after being taken off the field in an ambulance after a hit vs. SMU.

With five minutes to go in the first quarter, Morris and linebacker Sam Mattingly converged on SMU receiver Jordan Hudson from opposite sides to make a tackle. Morris made contact before Mattingly and took a blow to the head.

Morris' facemask was removed as he was  placed on a stretcher and loaded onto the ambulance at SMU's Ford Stadium. He has movement in all his extremities and was taken to a local hospital for precautionary measures.

Stanford released a statement saying Morris would return to be with the team before the end of the game. The Lowell, Mass. native has played in four games this year with four tackles and PDU.
