The Los Angeles Chargers could see things get ugly in Week 6 against the . The team is dealing with several major injuries to key players while trying to figure out how to get back on the winning side of things. However, the offensive line that the team puts out on the field for this one may be the biggest key in the game.
The Chargers are going to be without starting tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt, but those matters will be complicated as backup tackle Trey Pipkins has been ruled out and reserve offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer is listed as questionable.
Pipkins has been filling in for Slater, who was lost for the season in training camp, and the next man up after him would likely be Salyer. If the team doesn't have either of them, here is how the starting offensive line could look on Sunday.
Left tackle- Austin Deculus
Guard- Zion Johnson
Center- Bradley Bozeman
Guard- Mekhi Becton
Right tackle- Foster Sarell
The team is fortunate to have Becton ready to play as he has battled injuries all season. However, the prospect of starting a player like Sarell could leave some fans uneasy as he wasn't even on the roster a few weeks ago. To add depth, both Bobby Hart and David Sharpe have been moved up from the practice squad.
With the team already down to its No. 3 and No. 4 running backs with Najee Harris and Omarion Hampton out with injuries, this is going to be a tough game for offensive coordinator Greg Roman to call.
The Chargers were being talked about as a Super Bowl contender after getting out to a 3-0 start on the season. Major injuries have completely changed the complexion of their season and now, with their backs against the wall, they'll need to find a way to get a road win with an early kickoff on the East Coast at far less than 100 percent.
