SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Angelo State Rambelles stay hot with their fourth straight shutout win.
It was a beautiful, sunny day for local fans to enjoy watching their Angelo State Rambelles shine once again at home. Heading into its matchup with St. Mary’s, Angelo State had won three straight games by a 2-0 score.
Saturday’s game proved to be no different. The Rambelles wasted no time from the get-go, scoring less than three minutes in as Abby James snuck a goal past the bottom right corner. This is now the fourth time in the last six games in which Angelo State has scored a goal within the first 15 minutes of regulation. Angelo State set the tone immediately and held a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Angelo State struck again.
In the 66th minute, a Rattlers foul set up Angelo State’s Sanai Stewart with a penalty kick opportunity. She capitalized, scoring her team-high sixth goal of the season. On the defensive side, goalkeeper Mel Martinez was phenomenal again with her sixth shutout performance of the season and fourth in the last four games. Angelo State takes care of business in yet another conference matchup, securing its fourth straight victory by a 2-0 score.
Angelo State concludes its three-game homestand on Wednesday, Oct 15 versus the UT Tyler Patriots.
