LUBBOCK (KSNT) – It was a struggle on both sides of the ball as the Kansas Jayhawks fell to the No. 9 Texas Tech Red Raiders, 42-17.

The Red Raiders came out hot to start the game, scoring on its first three drives. Two touchdowns—one with a failed two-point conversion—and a field goal made it 18-0 early.

It was 21-0 in the second when the ‘Hawks finally got on the board with a 10-yard touchdown from Jalon Daniels to Leshon Williams to make it 21-7.

Will Hammond threw an interception to Taylor Davis. KU would capitalize on this turnover with a Boden Groen 24-yard touchdown to make it a one-score game.

A 55-yard field goal courtesy of Laith Marjan would be the last score of the day for the Jayhawks, as they fall to 4-3 (2-2 Big 12).

KU has a bye this week, before taking on K-State at home in the Sunflower Showdown on Oct. 25.
