New Jersey high school football for the third straight week sees Don Bosco Prep Ironmen as the No. 1 ranked program out of the Garden State.

The remaining teams within the Top 5 along with the Ironmen remained mostly unchanged after last week, as the rest of the teams were able to come away with victories and St. Joseph Regional moving down just a spot. Who else made the cut in the sixth set of the Top 25 rankings out of New Jersey?

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

Here is the latest New Jersey high school football Top 25 rankings, according to Massey as of Oct. 12.

1. Don Bosco Prep Ironmen

The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen (5-0) take the top spot in the rankings for the third straight week and once again faced a difficult test this past Saturday when they took on No. 5 St. Joseph Regional. Ironmen narrowly came away with the win, 17-14, over the Green Knights, to retain the No. 1 ranking.

Don Bosco Prep opened the season with a 14-10 win over Melissa (TX) and followed it up with another out-of-state team in Monarch (Fla.), defeating the Knights 38-21 at home. The Ironmen soundly defeated St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) a couple few ago, 28-0. The Ironmen last week faced No. 7 ranked DePaul Catholic and came away with a convincing 47-15 victory.

Next up for the top-ranked Don Bosco Prep is a Saturday meeting against Seton Hall Prep. The Ironmen have a great chance of running the table and finishing with a undefeated regular season.

2. Bergen Catholic Crusaders

The Bergen Catholic Crusaders (5-1) have finally been dethroned from the top spot in the state of New Jersey when they fell to rival, Don Bosco Prep (see above). Crusaders finally got back on the field and dominated in their return, a 45-14 win over Paramus Catholic.

The Crusaders have had themselves a doozy of a regular season opener when they defeated East St. Louis (Ill.) at the Battle at the Beach Classic in Ocean City. Bergen Catholic followed up that with another impressive win down in South Florida, defeating West Boca Raton (Fla.), 21-14. Bergen Catholic is back at home this week when they take on Delbarton (3-3) on Saturday.

3. St. Peter’s Prep Marauders

Coming off a narrow victory over No. 5 St. Joseph Regional Green Knights a week and a half ago, St. Peter’s Prep followed that up with a 42-3 rout of Seton Hall Prep.

St. Peter’s Prep had won their previous four games by an average of 32 points and their most recent win before St. Joseph Regional came over a talented Delbarton group, 42-7. The Marauders (5-0) have one of the Garden State’s most talented offenses, which includes a pair of four-star talents in offensive lineman Oluwasemilore Olubobola and running back Abdul Turay.

The Marauders are coming off a bye week and take on No. 7 DePaul Catholic this week.

4. Hun School Raiders

The Hun School (5-1) finally dropped their first game of the season in a 30-14 loss to  The St. James Academy on the road. After starting the season off with five straight wins, the Raiders finally see the losing side against one of the DMV’s top programs.

The Raiders recently cruised past Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 42-0, a week and a half ago soundly defeated winless Mt. Zion Prep, 48-0. Hun School relies on a stout defense, led by a pair of senior defensive ends in Luke Wafle (USC commit) and Seth Clarke (Rice commit).

The Hun School is fresh off a bye week and takes on nationally ranked St. Frances Academy on Friday.

5. St. Joseph Regional Green Knights

St. Joseph Regional (4-2) bumped down another spot after losing a narrow 17-14 decision to No. 1 Don Bosco Prep last week. The Green Knights got things rolling this 2025 season when they traveled down to the nation’s capital to face St. John’s College High coming away with a 34-19 win to kickoff the season and then followed it up with a 48-0 victory over Cardinal Hayes (N.Y.).

The Green Knights feature one of the most talented secondaries around, led by Tennessee commit KJ McClain. St. Joseph Regional looks to bounce back from their second loss of the season when they matchup against the No. 7 DePaul Catholic Spartans this week.
