The Blue Devils played without the veteran burner on Friday in a 21-14 loss to Grimsley, one of the top programs in North Carolina. Varina is now 4-2 on the season.
Varina has used three running backs consistently this fall, with Cheeks flanked by Michael Farley Jr. and Darren Williams. All three backs transferred in from other schools. Cheeks transferred from L.C. Bird this offseason.
