NFL Week 6 was a period of rest for the Minnesota Vikings, but some players are still dwelling on some things that happened in Week 5.

Specifically, the Vikings’ second-year kicker Will Reichard appeared to fall victim to having his 51-yard field goal attempt hit a camera wire when the team played in London last Sunday.

While it could have played a big factor in the team’s eventual 21-17 win, Reichard and his agent are still upset that his errant attempt may have been caused by something entirely out of his control.

Now, according to Jordan Schultz, Reichard and the Vikings’ front office have actually gone to the NFL to request that the league remove Reichard’s missed kick from his stat line.

The league has already responded.

The NFL has acknowledged that it missed a call. Essentially, they should have given the Vikings a chance to replay the down, giving Reichard another shot at the 51-yard field goal.

However, while the NFL admits its referees missed a call, it will not be making any changes to Reichard’s stats. He’s stuck with the miss.

It’s the only miss of his season thus far after Reichard connected on 24-of-30 attempts. Reichard has drilled 8-of-9 field goals thus far.
