SPRINGFIELD–The Missouri State Women’s soccer team hadn’t lost a conference game dating back to October 23, 2022. That is, until Sunday, when Western Kentucky scored two goals in the second half to win 4-3, snapping MSU’s impressive streak.

Senior, Julia Kristensen led the Bears with two goals in the contest. Kristensen scored the first goal of the match to give MO-State a 1-0 edge. Then netted her second near the end of the first half with a header off a corner kick. Her second and final goal gave Missouri State a 3-2 advantage heading into halftime.

However, the Hilltoppers rallied and were able to score the only two goals of the second half with the final one coming off a corner kick. The ball was batted off a Hilltopper’s shoulder and slipped between the legs of Bears keeper, Ella Becker, to send WKU over the top and seal the win.
