A former star has delivered his verdict on Alejandro Garnacho’s move to over the summer.
The Argentine international left Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge after falling out with United boss Ruben Amorim.
After breaking into the first-team squad under Erik Ten Hag in 2022, Garnacho established himself as an integral part of the United squad.
However, he was deemed surplus to requirements after publicly criticising the manager following United's defeat in the UEFA Europa League final last season.
It led to the player being sold to United’s rivals, Chelsea, for a cut-price deal in the summer.
However, the move has not gone down well with large sections of the United fan base, and now a former United star has shared his thoughts on the move.

Teddy Sheringham labels Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea as ‘disappointing’
Teddy Sheringham is not happy with Alejandro Garnacho’s move to Chelsea and has made his feelings known.
While speaking to the Metro, the former United striker said, “I think Alejandro Garnacho is a very talented player, but only time will tell whether he’s able to be a success at Chelsea.”
“He will have been disappointed not to get off the bench in the game at Old Trafford. He made a big move in leaving Manchester United for Chelsea, and it’s not one I would have advised him to make if I were a part of his team.
“When you’re at United, you have to try your utmost to make it work. It is the biggest club in the world, so you won’t be leaving for a better club, and the opportunity to come back won’t be there, especially with the manner in which he left and the way the fans have reacted to it.”
While Sheringham is correct in his assessment of Garnacho’s move to the Blues, the player has time on his side.
Regardless of how things ended at United, Garnacho has the ability and the time to establish himself as a great player at Stamford Bridge.
But he will have to get a hold of his mercurial attitude to succeed in his new home.
