Eintracht Frankfurt are plotting a January loan move for Newcastle United striker William Osula, according to Sky Sports Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri. Newcastle brought in Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa to the St James’ Park club to replace Alexander Isak in the summer, with Osula behind the duo. Magpies deadline day signing Wissa is closing in on his return to full fitness and could be making his debut after the international break. His return will see Osula further struggle for playing opportunities, and the 22-year-old could be open to switching to Germany.

Frankfurt are looking to bolster their attacking options to boost their chances of competing across all competitions, and the Newcastle striker has always attracted them. Once praised by Toons manager Eddie Howe for his ‘good technical skills’, Osula would be desperate to prove himself elsewhere and a move to the Bundesliga giants could appeal to him. Frankfurt are playing in the Champions League and are offering the Magpies man the chance to keep playing in the elite European competition. The German club came close to signing the Danish striker on summer deadline day, agreeing personal terms with him.
