Auburn running back Damari Alston is no longer with the team, Hugh Freeze confirmed on Monday.

The Atlanta, GA native only appeared in 4 games this season and will use a redshirt year at his next stop. He dealt with a shoulder injury early in the season, missing games against Ball State and South Alabama.

"He failed to meet the expectations and standards of our program," Freeze said about Alston. "We love him, wish him the best, but that's where it's at."

Alston had 32 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown thus far in 2025. The shoulder injury allowed Jeremiah Cobb to take the starting job. He rushed for 240 yards and three touchdowns in Alston's absence.

Auburn lost a tough game against No. 9 Georgia 20-10 on Saturday night. They'll look to reboot at home and face No. 16 Missouri this week.
