In addition to being the clear top high school football program in the state of Utah, Corner Canyon has become a bit of a quarterback factory.
Zach Wilson was just a three-star prospect in the 2018 cycle but became the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. Jaxson Dart is already thriving as a rookie for the New York Giants. Devin Brown was a five-star recruit in the 2022 cycle. Isaac Wilson, the younger brother of Zach, finished as a four-star recruit in the 2024 cycle.
Helaman Casuga is next up. The senior, who’s currently committed to Texas A&M, is a four-star recruit in the 2026 cycle.
Last week, Casuga reached a career milestone in a 37-21 victory over American Fork. He became the 11th player in UHSAA history to throw 100 career touchdowns. He’s the second Corner Canyon QB to do so, joining Dart, who finished his career with 116, the fourth most all-time.
As a senior, Casuga is now over 2,000 passing yards and has thrown 24 touchdowns. Corner Canyon is now 7-1 on the season and ranks as the No. 15 team nationally, according to the Massey Ratings. That’s, of course, good for the No. 1 spot in the Beehive State, too.
Casuga missed the back half of his junior season due to injury and finished with 1,617 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and two interceptions. He hurled for 25 scores as a freshman, but really blossomed as a sophomore in 2023 with 4,135 passing yards and 33 touchdowns. Casuga is currently eighth in career passing yards, per the UHSAA.
He’s also won back-to-back state titles and is looking to close his prep career with a third. Corner Canyon has won five state titles in the last seven years and remains the top dog in the mountain west.
Casuga is now the No. 249 overall prospect and No. 20 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 5 player in Utah.
