Heading into their bye week, the 1-5 Baltimore Ravens have a lot of soul-searching to do with the franchise's season in danger of being over before it really began.

The small glimmer of hope is that when Lamar Jackson returns, which we think will be in Week 7, that will be the firestarter this team needs to go on a run and put itself back in playoff calculations.

But right now, there aren't too many who firmly believe that this Ravens is capable of going on such a run; however, that is outside of the building, inside, that's another story.

And head coach John Harbaugh knows that his team has the fight to make playoff football a reality.

“Going into a bye week now, our focus going forward and what we can accomplish for the next 11 games and try to earn our way into the playoffs, which obviously has not been done very often with the record we have,” Harbaugh said. “But we still believe we can do it.”

Lamar Jackson key to Ravens' playoff hopes

Putting it simply, Lamar has to return for Week 7 against the Chicago Bears as another loss would almost put a line through Baltimore's season at 1-6, if it isn't "done" already.

But at least with Jackson, Baltimore has a puncher's chance to go on a run of wins to try and not only make the playoffs but reel in the 4-1 Pittsburgh Steelers. Yes, that seems impossible, and it very might well be, but the Ravens need something to cling to right now.

Harbaugh has a belief that this team can make a push for the postseason, and sometimes that's all you need to make the unthinkable happen.

And for the Ravens, they need things to start going their way straight after the bye, and it starts with the belief that it will.
