Stellies striker receives emergency Bafana call-up

Stellenbosch FC striker Ashley Cupido has received an eleventh hour call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad as an injury replacement.
The 24-year-old frontman is expected to step in for Lyle Foster, who was seen limping after the disappointing draw against Zimbabwe on Friday.
Foster also sat out Bafana's training on Monday, suggesting that he is not fit for the final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
Meanwhile, Cupido returns to the national team fold for the first time since June 2025, where he scored his maiden Bafana goal in a 2-0 win over Mozambique.
The Stellies striker will be eager to make an impact when Hugo Broos' men host Amavubi at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday (18h00).
