Joe Flacco says Steelers' Mike Tomlin 'probably just playing the game' with trade remarks

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the Browns' trade of Joe Flacco to the AFC North rival Bengals didn't make sense to him.

Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco addressed remarks from Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin about the trade that brought Flacco to Cincinnati, ahead of the teams' NFL Week 7 game on Thursday Night Football at Paycor Stadium.

Tomlin said the Cleveland Browns' trade of Flacco to a division rival didn't make sense to him.

Flacco was asked whether he saw Tomlin talking about the trade.

"Not specifically," Flacco replied. "I heard he was talking about it a little bit, the fact that I'm on the Bengals. ... I don't know. I didn't see it. I didn't get to see how upset he was. But I think he's probably just playing the game a little bit, and doing what he has to do."

Thursday night's game is set to pit the 40-year-old Flacco against Steelers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is 41.
