SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Ozona Lions came close to scoring 100 points last week, and they will take a perfect record into Friday’s District 3-2A Division I matchup on the road against Sonora.

Ozona rolled to a 94-16 blowout on the road against Reagan County last week in the district opener.

As usual, Lions superstar running back Christian Villarreal saw limited action against the Owls, but still managed to run for 296 yards and six touchdowns, in addition to 45 yards receiving and another score.

On the season, the senior running back has 2,068 yards on the ground and 29 TDs. He also had 225 yards receiving and two scores. Additionally, Villarreal has 12 two-point conversion runs, one two-point conversion reception and a PAT pass.

Ozona (6-0 overall, 1-0 in district) will be taking on a Sonora squad that has enjoyed a big turnaround this season. The Broncos are 5-1 overall and 1-0 in district after beating Forsan 42-8 last week in the district opener.
