Milan Line Up Four Meaningful Contract Renewals

Milan have turned their attention to four extensions following an eventful summer and have good chances of coming to terms relatively quickly on three of them. They will keep trying to convince Mike Maignan, but he seems to have made up his mind about leaving. He is eying a move to the Premier League in particular, Corriere dello Sport informs.

Instead, the Rossoneri are likely to be able to keep hold of Fikayo Tomori, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Christian Pulisic for the foreseeable future. All their deals expire in 2027. The English defender is enjoying a bounce-back campaign under Massimiliano Allegri after being dangled in the transfer market in previous windows. He could ink a three-year renewal at about the same numbers he’s making now.

The versatile Belgian winger has been a cornerstone after returning from a loan to Roma. He makes just €1.5M and could almost triple his wages in a new four-year contract, reaching the economic level of most of his teammates.

The Rossoneri have an option to automatically prolong the contract of Pulisic until 2028. They’d rather agree to a new contract with him, though, also to keep his suitors at bay. Like Saelemaekers, the USMNT staple might have suffered a thigh injury while on international duties and will need to be assessed.

Our Take on the Milan Negotiations

Stability is key to opening a cycle, which is definitely what they are eyeing under Massimiliano Allegri. It’s interesting that, after being very attentive to their payroll for a few years, they have started loosening the purse strings. The total tally has risen by a good amount during the summer and will do so again after the extensions.
