We know that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will be returning from a suspension this week. What we don't know is if he'll be thrown into the fire right away in terms of a full workload.

Rice is going to play, that much we know. But it is possible the Chiefs will limit his snap count in order to ease him in after not having played in an NFL game last September.

When asked about what we can expect for Rice in his first game back, head coach Andy Reid didn't give an answer and would only stay Rice is in good shape.

"He's going to play (Sunday against the Raiders). How many snaps he'll get, (I don't know)... He's been working hard. He's in good shape," Reid said, per ESPN's Nate Taylor.

While Reid isn't giving any answers, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that there is not expected to be an easing in period for Rice and instead he's expected to see plenty of work right out of the gate.

"The Chiefs won't be easing Rashee Rice back into action. They will be allocating a heavy workload for him as soon as possible. Rice, who returns from suspension this week, has been in the building for weeks, had an excellent training camp and is in peak physical shape," Fowler wrote.

Fowler goes on to add that a team source told him Rice will be "full bore" this week.

That's pretty much what we expected. As Reid pointed out, Rice has been hard at work during his suspension and is in shape, so he's ready to get in there and go.

Prior to his torn ACL last season, Rice was serving as Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 wideout, a role he should continue to excel at, although he is in a crowded wide receivers room with Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Tyquan Thornton and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
