The Denver Broncos' defense did its job on Sunday, making life miserable for the New York Jets' offense en route to a 13-11 victory.

Coming into the game, Jets wideout Garrett Wilson was the leading receiver of the AFC, with 33 receptions and 382 yards.

With last year's Defensive Player of the Year draped all over him, he finished the day with three catches for 13 yards.

Pat Surtain opens up on dominant Broncos performance

In his press conference following Sunday's game in London, England, Broncos superstar cornerback Patrick Surtain II spoke about the defense's overall dominant performance and his job locking up Wilson.

"It's hard to get a rhythm, obviously, with the pressure we generate and the coverage we have. But I saw instances he [Wilson] was a little hurt a little bit, and throughout the game, seemed like he was grabbing his ribs or something. But yeah, I just think that collectively as a unit, we try to create pressure and create frustration amongst their best players," Surtain said.

"I really think pressure can affect the rhythm of an offense, you know what I mean? Credit to VJ [Vance Joseph] as well. I think he was giving him different looks, different coverages. We added pressure with that as well."

The Broncos' defense totaled nine sacks against the Jets on Sunday, making it impossible for the offense to flow and function normally.

Surtain's performance against Wilson is just another in a long line of elite showings so far this season.

Against the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago, last year's DPOY held Ja'Marr Chase to just five catches for 23 yards.

Denver is beginning to look like a serious contender, and the rest of the league should be mindful not to throw in the direction of Surtain.
