The Las Vegas Raiders are on the path to being sellers at the trade deadline after a 2-4 start.

Las Vegas secured its second win of the season last week, but it came against a listless Tennessee Titans team that might be the worst in the NFL. That's the definition of an uninspiring victory.

When it comes to the top trade candidates in Las Vegas, many will speculate about star edge rusher Maxx Crosby, but unless he requests a trade (there hasn't been any indication he will), the Raiders are highly unlikely to move him.

The real top trade candidate in Las Vegas figures to be Jakobi Meyers. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that teams around the NFL believe the Raiders are open to moving their best wide receiver, although the team isn't actively shopping him.

Teams I've spoken to believe the Raiders are open to trading wide receiver Jakobi Meyers but are not actively trying to move him. The sense is the Raiders would prefer to play out the season before making major determinations about the roster. But Meyers requested a trade in the preseason, so a potential deal feels at least on the table.

As Fowler notes, Meyers did request a trade in the offseason after he and the Raiders failed to get an extension done.

Meyers is now in a contract year and it stands to reason he won't be back in 2026 if he makes it to free agency. Knowing that, the Raiders could (and should) trade him.

The veteran wideout, who has four 800-yard seasons, including a 1,000-yard year in 2024 despite terrible quarterback play, is likely to be one of, if not the top wide receivers available if he hits the trading block and would net a solid return that could come in the form of a third-round pick.

With so many needs to address and the roster building process still going on, that would be a valuable pick for the Raiders to acquire and would help move the aforementioned process along just a bit faster.

On top of that, trading Meyers clears the way for more snaps and targets for rookies Dont'e Thornton and Jack Bech, both of whom need to get extended looks for the Raiders to better evaluate them.
