An exciting wonderkid has been promoted at Liverpool following his impressive performances.
The Reds are producing some elite talent at the moment. Rio Ngumoha is setting the first-team alight after his terrific performances in pre-season, and Trey Nyoni is not far behind him in the pecking order.
The academy is teeming with exciting young talent ready to make their mark, too.
There's Jayden Danns, who has already caught the eye at senior level, then behind him the likes of Joshua Abe, La'More Forrester and Erik Farkas are all names to keep an eye on.
Among this talented group is Joshua Sonni-Lambie, who is one of the most exciting young players at the club right now.
Sonni-Lambie is a typical modern day forward. He is brilliant at pressing and works tirelessly off the ball, and he's also very flexible.
He can play as a false nine or as an out-and-out nine and has shades of Roberto Firmino about him. If necessary, he can drop out wide, and the way he links-up with his teammates is exceptional.
He's truly a very fascinating player. And he's in great form. Sonni-Lambie has started the season with six goals and two assists in eight games for the U18s and the U19s.
Eight goal contributions in eight games is exactly what you want from a striker, and Sonni-Lambie is quietly catching a lot of attention within academy circles.
Many see him as a future Liverpool no.9. Which is why he has now earned a promotion within the club.
On Tuesday night, Liverpool's U21 side took on Crewe in the EFL Trophy. The starting forward for the young Reds was Sonni-Lambie, who made his first appearance at that level.
It was a significant moment for the young forward, and one that shows just how highly rated he is and how he's not far away from first-team contention.
The night ended-up being a frustrating one for Liverpool, who lost 2-0. Even though the Reds controlled possession and created chances, they could not quite make enough of an impact in the final third.
This was through no fault of Sonni-Lambie who put in a tireless effort and caused problems to Crewe's defence. He played just over an hour before being substituted.
The learning experience will have been a valuable one for the young man.
Ultimately, there will be many more games to come for Sonni-Lambie at this level. His promotion was well deserved and he is a name well worth keeping an eye on.
In years to come, he could easily be competing for a spot in the first-team.
