The NFL trade deadline is under three weeks away, and for teams like the that have a low chance at making the playoffs, this is a great opportunity to dump off some of their veteran players in favor of draft picks that could help them in future seasons. They have an intriguing trade option in Chris Olave, who is starting to gain more and more trade buzz by the day.

As for the Giants, they could be in the market for a receiver after losing Malik Nabers to an ACL injury for the rest of the year.

What would it cost the Giants to acquire Chris Olave?

But what would it cost the Giants specifically to acquire Chris Olave?

A fourth or fifth-round draft pick seems like reasonable compensation in a trade like this. Chris Olave was a former first-round draft pick back in 2022 and has spent all four of his NFL seasons with the Saints. After two really productive seasons in 2022 and 2023, Olave's production has fallen off a bit in recent years. He also dealt with a slew of injuries during the 2024 season.

This year, Chris Olave has played in all six games and has 39 receptions for 342 yards and one touchdown.

If the Saints did receive an offer from the Giants for a fourth-round pick for Chris Olave, New Orleans should not hesitate in making that deal. The Saints are in a rebuild, and that pick could go a long way in drafting an impactful player next season.

The Giants have a thin depth chart at wide receiver, with Wan'Dale Robinson being their top option. If Jaxson Dart is the quarterback of the future, New York needs to get him some more weapons, and Olave would be a great option that checks all the boxes.

Olave's production dip may also be due to the Saints' lackluster options at quarterback over the last few seasons.
