Here's a look at how Savannah area teams fared in the state volleyball playoffs and who they face in the second round.
The GHSA volleyball playoffs are in full swing and there are several area teams making noise in the postseason early on.
On Tuesday, Richmond Hill rolled to a three-set sweep of visiting Dacula in its Class 6A first-round matchup.
In Class 2A, Savannah Arts swept Hardaway 25-8, 25-15, 25-7 as the Panthers advanced to the Sweet 16.
Savannah Arts is 16-28 on the season, but the Panthers are a team that has played a tough regular season schedule and has the talent to make a deep playoff run. The made the Class 2A Finals last season where they lost to Morgan County.
The Panthers rallied to win the Region 2-3A championship on Saturday as they came back from a two-set deficit to beat Pierce County 19-25, 19-25, 27-25, 23-15, 15-4.
Junior Charlotte Browne had 18 kills, eight blocks, five aces and six digs in the win. Sophomore Ellie Ayala had 13 kills, 15 digs, 12 assists and four aces and senior Natalie Lehto dished out 17 assists. Senior Maggie Allen had 27 digs, while sophomore Maddie Storck added 22 digs.
After the tournament, which was held at Woodville-Tompkins, Ayala was named the Region Player of the Year and Allen earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Browne, Bella Jaqua, Lena Anne Smith and Emma Lawson Snyder earned first-team All-Region honors.
Savannah Arts entered the playoffs as the No. 5 seed, based on GHSA Power rankings from the regular season. The Panthers are set to host Jackson (12-17) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.
Richmond Hill improved to 39-2 on the season with its win. Talia Johnson had 16 kills and digs in the victory and Lily Ritzema had 14 kills. The Wildcats won their fourth straight region title, this one in Region 1-6A, and are a No. 1 seed in the 6A playoffs. They are set to host North Gwinnett (23-17) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.
Calvary Day defeated visiting Prince Ave. Christian on Wednesday 27-25, 25-22, 25-22. The Cavs beat Islands to win the Region 3-3A title on Oct. 4 as Kinsey Prado led the way with 18 kills, 18 digs and three aces. Calvary will host Providence Christian Saturday at a time to be announced.
In the GAPPS State Playoffs, the Habersham School improved to 31-10 with a playoff sweep of Providence Classical Christian. Habersham is set to host a GAPPS State Division 1A Semifinal match with Veritas on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
The Patriots have played Veritas (15-10) twice this season, and swept both matches three sets to none.

Savannah Christian (29-10) def. Atlanta International 25-12, 25-17, 25-9. SCPS will host the winner of Holy Innocents/Mt. Vernon on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.
St. Vincent’s Academy (33-11) def. Landmark Christian 25-23, 25-23, 25-8. The Saints will be on the road to face North Cobb Christian (22-15) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.
Calvary Day School (19-10) def. Prince Avenue Christian 27-25, 25-22, 25-22. The Cavs will host Providence Christian (36-10) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.
Providence Christian (36-10) def. Savannah Country Day (13-11) 25-19, 25-17, 27-25.
Class 5A
South Effingham (39-10) def. Apalachee (25-19) 25-20, 22-25, 25-14, 25-19. The Mustangs will host Milton (25-15) on Saturday, Oct. 18, at a time to be announced.Habersham Central (27-9) def. Effingham County (19-22) 26-28, 16-25, 25-22, 25-15, 15-13.
