The door is open for Liverpool to sign an exciting winger.
The wide area is a position where the Reds are still looking a little light at the moment. Despite all the investment and a plethora of stars arriving at the club, Richard Hughes has not been able to sign a winger.
At the moment, the only out and out wingers are Rio Ngumoha, Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah. There are other players who can play in those positions. Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, Federico Chiesa and Florian Wirtz but this isn't necessarily their best role.
It's not been for a lack of trying for Hughes. He's tried to sign a few wingers since he took charge. He pursued moves for the likes of Anthony Gordon, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to no avail.
Last summer there were plenty of players he monitored and kept an eye on. Ultimately, signing a winger just wasn't as much of a priority as bringing in adequate strikers and centre-backs.
The latter is still incomplete. However, after the centre-back question the winger is the next on the agenda for the club's sporting director.
And already there are plenty of names being touted around. Antoine Semenyo is one. He's very highly regarded by the club and he seems like the perfect fit.
Another could be Yankuba Minteh. The Gambian has already worked with Arne Slot and there is a lot of synergy there.
However, they are not the only ones on the club's radar. Another who Liverpool looked at was Bradley Barcola and he's in an interesting situation at Paris Saint Germain at the moment.
Barcola started last season brilliantly and it led to Paris Saint Germain trying to renew his contract to reward his performances. However, when the club opened negotiations, they had signed a rival in Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who has now become PSG's first choice over Barcola.
