Patriots QB Joshua Dobbs discusses the Pepper Portal, challenging the Chiefs in the AFC

During his chat with @EdEastonJr, New England Patriots QB Joshua Dobbs discussed the Pepper Portal, challenging the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC

This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke to New England Patriots quarterback and Tennessee Volunteers legend Joshua Dobbs.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Dobbs, who recently teamed up with Dr Pepper for the Pepper Portal at the 'Third Saturday in October' annual showdown between the University of Alabama and the University of Tennessee, reacts to New England's hot start to the season, with the team emerging as a contender for the Kansas City Chiefs' AFC crown.

"I think, as we know, the Third Saturday in October is turning into the biggest game of the year between Tennessee and Alabama, and it's really cool to see Dr Pepper's take on the rivalry, bridging the gap between Tuscaloosa and Knoxville." said Dobbs, "They're going to my old stomping grounds, Cool Bean Bar over in Knoxville, and they'll be right outside Brian Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, and the Pepper Portal is going to be a great touch this Saturday. I'm excited to partner with Dr Pepper to bring it to life."

Dr Pepper will host a special gameday event this Saturday to debut The Pepper Portal, a first-of-its-kind interactive fan experience connecting rival college football towns. The event will take place from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Rama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Cool Bean Bar and Grill in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Pepper Portal

Dobbs is in his first season with the New England Patriots, who have surprised many critics by currently leading the AFC East with a 4-2 record.

"We're pretty numb to outside noise and expectations. We're very internally motivated. We have the best with (Head) Coach (Mike) Vrabel pushing us every single day and holding us to that high standard. We've been excited, but not surprised, by the success we've had," said Dobbs. "We're just motivated to go out and perform each and every Sunday. We got another big one coming up this weekend. Records don't matter each week in the NFL; you're 0-0, and just trying to go 1-0 each week. We got to go down to Tennessee, play a tough game on the road, and try to keep this momentum rolling in the right direction."

The Chiefs have represented the AFC in the past three Super Bowls and are facing several contenders, including the up-and-coming Patriots, this season.
