Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini has weighed in on the ongoing debate between Francesco Camarda and Francesco Pio Esposito.

Speaking on his YouTube channel via FCinter1908, Sabatini delivered his verdict on this heated debate.

After a remarkable loan stint at Spezia last season, the 20-year-old returned to San Siro at Cristian Chivu’s request.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri turned down several lucrative offers for their prodigious striker in the summer.

Meanwhile, Esposito has repaid Chivu’s trust with a series of inspiring performances at the start of the season.

Despite only scoring once in Serie A, Esposito’s overall performances have left a strong impression.

Additionally, he scored his first goal for Italy last week, finding the net off the bench in a 3-1 win over Estonia.

On the other hand, just 17 years old, Francesco Camarda is already making significant progress at Lecce.

Indeed, the AC Milan loanee has made six Serie A appearances this season, scoring one goal.

However, Sabatini believes there’s no comparison between the two Italian gems at the moment.

“At the moment, it’s clear that Pio Esposito is much stronger than Camarda, if only because he’s three years older,” he admitted.

“And Milan fans shouldn’t take offense; they see Camarda as the striker of the future.

“Esposito is already ready to be Inter’s starting center-forward.

“He could go even further if he continues improving at this rate.

“Next year, Inter could even afford the luxury of selling Lautaro Martinez or Thuram and building around him.

“He could even become Italy’s starting striker.

“In him, I see shades of Bobo Vieri. He’s physically strong, knows how to play with his teammates, and is good at link-up play.

“In that sense, he resembles Vieri, someone who was never selfish.

“Everyone describes him as a solid, grounded, intelligent guy. He seems to have broad shoulders.
