Jalyn Collingwood, a three-star power forward in the 2026 class, has committed to Mississippi State, he told Rivals.
The 6-foot-5 senior out of Sidwell Friends (DC) ultimately chose the Bulldogs over Ohio State and Michigan State, but also received offers from Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Butler, Maryland, and others.
Collingwood is ranked as the No. 125 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. He’s also the No. 19 power forward and the No. 2 player in Washington, DC.
He becomes State’s third commitment this cycle, joining four-star SG Willie Burnett III (No. 95 NATL) and three-star PF Ladarius Givan (No. 159 NATL).
Collingwood on his commitment to Mississippi State
Jalyn Collingwood discussed his decision to choose State with Rivals.
“I chose Mississippi State simply because of the love I was shown the by the whole coaching staff and more importantly the love shown by Coach Jans. He was out here every week since he could come out.”
What led to his trust in the coaching staff?
“What led me to trust in them is the amount of love shown in the relentless calls and texts and more importantly the plan he had for me on and off the court, from how I can impact as a freshman to my degree.”
In his own words, what type of player is Mississippi State getting in Collingwood?
“I would describe my play style as a do it all wing. Someone who is willing to do anything to win, whether that’s scoring , playing defense or playmaking. When needed to score somebody who can get to his spot and raise while also finding teammates.”
He has a message for State fans.
“They have a high-flying winner coming to town.”
