Trade rumors and speculation are swirling around New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara.

It's understandable why Kamara is considered a logical trade candidate. He's 30 years old and on one of the worst teams in the NFL that could use more draft capital for a rebuild.

And, one would assume at his age that he'd be looking for a way out of that kind of situation, especially when the team is clearly trying to incorporate the younger Kendre Millee more in the offense.

But Kamara is clearly cut from a different cloth. When asked about the possibility of being traded on Thursday, Kamara made it quite clear he doesn't intend on playing for anyone else but the Saints.

"I don't want to go anywhere and I've said it countless times... If I was a GM, I guess I would go to the player and say 'Hey, we're trading you, just so you know.' So if Mickey comes down and says that, I'm going to go drink a piña colada somewhere," he said, per Luke Johnson of the New Orelans Times-Picayune.

This tracks with a recent report that said Kamara was approached by the front office about his desire to be traded, only to make it clear he wants to stay.

"Sources say Kamara told Saints general manager Mickey Loomis that he'd like to remain with the franchise through the rest of his career, which was the goal when he signed a two-year, $24.5 million extension last October," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported last week. "Kamara is signed through 2026 and will have a decision to make prior to next season about if he wants to continue playing."

Well, we have to tip our hat to Kamara here.

His loyalty to a franchise that has been middling, at best, over the past four-plus years and is arguably the worst team in the NFL is definitely admirable.

Adding to that, the Saints have routinely made poor decisions that has kept them in salary cap hell for longer than any team should be.

The fact of the matter is, the Saints should trade Kamara, although that's going to be a lot tougher to do after his comments on Thursday.

By the time the team is good again, he will likely be on the decline and at that point won't have any value, which will mark yet another example of the poor management that has become a common occurrence in New Orleans.
