Who were the MVPs in high school volleyball area tournaments in the Montgomery area?

Area high school volleyball tournaments are coming to a close in the Montgomery area. Take a look at who were the MVPs.

High school volleyball area tournaments are coming to an end, and the River Region wasn't short of impressive performances.

Four Montgomery area teams earned the privilege to host area tournaments, giving home crowds a front seat to the talent high school volleyball in the Montgomery area has to offer.

Where there's a tournament, there's always MVPs and that didn't change for the area tournaments. Below are four Montgomery area high school volleyball players that played a focal role in leading their teams to area titles, and spot in Super Regionals starting Oct. 22 at the Multiplex at the Cramton Bowl.

Kaci Armistead, Montgomery Academy

The Montgomery Academy junior reached a milestone for the Eagles on Sept. 4 when Armistead surpassed 1,000 varsity career digs. In the Area 4-6A championship game against Stanhope Elmore on Wednesday, Oct. 15, Armistead recorded dig No. 1,465 — tying her with Addi Vinson for the most digs in school history.

With only one dig left to claim Montgomery Academy history, Armistead will have the opportunity to do so on a big stage at Super Regionals. Armistead recorded 19 digs and 21 aces during area tournament play.

Joi McGuire, Montgomery Catholic

McGuire is an ace of all trades for Montgomery Catholic and it shows in her area tournament stat line. McGuire had double-digits digs (46) and kills (28) while recording nine blocks. A stat line like that is impressive because it shows the versatility of the outside hitter.

McGuire rarely exits the game for the Knights and isn't traditionally looking for the kill, the senior saves points on the back row, demonstrating an athleticism that serves the other power hitters on Montgomery Catholic.

Baylee Rogers, Prattville Christian Academy

There's not a high school volleyball player like Rogers in the Montgomery area. Rogers has been captain of the Panthers since her freshman year, and is the only volleyball athlete at Prattville Christian Academy that has to reach 1,000 in more than one statistical category. Rogers has over 4,000 assists and over 1,000 digs.

Prattville Christian Academy is on a mission to repeat as Class 4A champions, and Rogers will have big role to play in that quest. Rogers finished with 41 assists, 21 aces, three digs, two kills and a block over the course of the Area 5-4A tournament.

Morgan Bond, Alabama Christian Academy

Bond was voted captain of the 2025 season for good reason. The junior middle blocker has enjoyed a fruitful season. Bond is averaging six kills per match and has accomplished two career milestones in 2025.

Bond recorded her 100th ace and 150th block this season, leading Alabama Christian Academy to an Area 5-3A title over Thorsby on Thursday, Oct. 16. Bond recorded nine kills, two blocks and two aces in the championship match. ACA only had to play one match in the three-team format, earning an automatic trip to the title game by being the top team in the area.
