Four-stars Darius and Adonis Ratliff are twin brothers in the class of 2026. Darius is a 7-foot center ranked 36th nationally by Rivals. Adonis is a 7-foot power forward ranked 57th nationally. Both attend Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. Over the course of their college recruitment, the two have received nearly 20 offers.
Today, they’re cutting their list down to four schools — Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, and USC.
To this point, the brothers have completed official visits to Alabama and USC. Texas is scheduled to host them on October 29th and they’re working on a date to Arkansas. Their commitment timeline is currently up in the air.
Darius and Adonis are open to playing together in college, but aren’t ruling out splitting up.
Darius Ratliff discusses the schools involved
In a previous interview with Rivals, Darius Ratliff discussed each of the schools in pursuit of his talents.
ALABAMA: “I already knew about the analytics stuff but I didn’t know how serious it was. I didn’t know how much math they used with their shots and how many threes and everything is just math with them. They have a nice facility. I didn’t know the basketball team had just as much stuff as the football team. The facility was crazy, and they’re building a new facility. It was a great visit. I have a great relationship with the staff, we joke around a lot. They brought me into their family and welcomed me into their team.”
USC: “I know they have an NBA style of play. Coach (Eric) Musselman, he came to USC, he said he looks for a lot of NBA player’s sons because they know they have the IQ, the style of play, and they know how to play the game the right way.”
ARKANSAS: “They’re fast-paced. They play through the bigs. They’ve had great bigs come through their program, where they can bring the ball up, post up, and just do everything. I know that Coach Cal (John Calipari) has been the ticket to the league for everybody. He has had so many great players on his teams and what he’s done with his program.”
TEXAS: “I’ve seen they have an inside-outside game-plan for their bigs. Their bigs also can bring the ball to the court, push the ball. They have a great winning mindset.”
Adonis also discusses the schools involved
Also in a previous interview with Rivals, Adonis Ratliff broke the schools recruiting him.
ALABAMA: “I did not know about the analytics part of Alabama. It’s all analytics. They track your shots, mid range, three pointers, catch-and-shoot, and off the dribble. It’s just crazy how much how much they use analytics. Everything there is advanced to help the athletes to stay injury free. They’re all about making sure everybody’s healthy and so that they can be on the court. “I talk to them a lot. They show a lot of love. They call me after my games, like every game, and ask how I’m doing, just check up on me. That’s pretty much of the relationship we got right now.”
ARKANSAS: “ It’s usually the quickest way to the league. Most people that go through there, play for Cal (John Calipari), usually have successful careers. It’s a battle every day in practice because everybody’s fighting for a spot. Nothing’s promised.”
TEXAS: “They have had a lot of big guards. The coaches have coached a lot of big guards that play like myself. And that know how to play the one through five and guard the one through five, so that’s what sticks out to me, right now.”
USC: “They have an NBA coach. That’s what everybody dreams of. He’s been there, and that’s where I want to be at. So the fact that’s he’s an NBA coach. He know how to game works. He’s been around the game, the coaches, and around all the teams. And he could potentially get me there, too.”
More on the Ratliff twins
Over the last couple of weeks, Rivals’ National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw evaluated the twins at both Border League and USA Basketball and had this to say about them:
Last week, at The Border League is where the breakout started, and Adonis Ratliff was able to keep that momentum going through the weekend at USA Basketball October Minicamp. The 6-foot-11 power forward showed intriguing fluidity along with perimeter-based ball skills. He consistently shot the ball at a high clip, while also showing he could get downhill toward the rim in the half-court. He is going to have to add weight, this will help his game in all aspect. But the intriguing he brings with his size, athletic fluidity, and shooting ability makes Ratliff’s ceiling very high.
Darius Ratliff was one of the big winners of the weekend, following a strong Border League performance last season. Ratliff, much like his twin Adonis, is a fluid mover with excellent length and touch. He also showed he is not afraid to mix it up around the basket. While burying multiple pick and pop threes throughout each session, he chased the offensive glass, flashed to the paint, and finished at the basket as well. He is thin, very thin, and will need to stay healthy, but the upside is immense and everytime he is on the floor you can see him growing toward it.
