The Chicago Bears are coming off a strong win over the Washington Commanders on Monday night. A huge component of their win was the play of running back D'Andre Swift.
After a slow start to the year, Swift turned things around in Week 6, putting up 108 rushing yards on 14 carries to go along with two receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown, which included a 55-yard touchdown to make it a one-score game.
But, he landed on the injury report with a groin issue, and there was some concern about his status for Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints. That is, until Courtney Cronin of ESPN shared Swift's statement on his status for Week 7, and it's some good news for Bears fans.
Bears' D'Andre Swift reveals status update for Week 7
"D'Andre Swift says he will play vs. New Orleans," Cronin reports. "The groin injury is one that came from the Commanders game, but isn't one he thinks will affect him in game. He was limited on Thursday and Friday, more of a product of maintenance than anything else."

This update is a positive one for Swift, but it does also shed some light on the injury. The Bears running back has been on the injury report before, but this week was more up in the air. The groin injury isn't a major one, making Swift not the only player who isn't expected to miss time despite a groin issue.
Fellow Bears offensive weapon D.J. Moore was hospitalized after the game with a groin issue of his own, but unlike Swift, he's completely off the injury report and good to go for Week 7.
After a pair of injury scares, the Bears are going to have both Moore and very likely to have Swift in the lineup for their Week 7 matchup against the Saints. Beating New Orleans would have the Bears at 4-2, a strong bounce-back from their 0-2 start.

Swift has been a solid player for the Bears this season. Under contract through 2026, Swift is becoming a staple of the Bears' offense. He has 295 rushing yards this season and two rushing touchdowns on 70 attempts, while also adding 15 catches for 152 yards and a touchdown in the receiving game.
While Kyle Monangai has shown some promise as a rookie, Swift's sticking in the lineup is a huge plus for the Bears. They should be able to beat the Saints, even if Swift was out. But, having him in the lineup will have the Bears' supporting cast at full strength for Caleb Williams in his first NFL matchup against Spencer Rattler.
Swift is set to play in Week 7, and he revealed so after he was limited in Friday's practice, and listed as questionable for the Bears matchup against the Saints coming off a confidence-boosting win over the Commanders in Week 6.
