Bengals snap counts from win vs. Steelers, benched players notes

The Cincinnati Bengals continued their new habit of benching players regardless of status over performance concerns during the Week 7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. 

There, cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt was inactive and benched, earning comments from head coach Zac Taylor. The next morning, Taylor-Britt himself talked about his benching. 

Here are some quick snap count takeaways following that theme: 

• Dalton Rsiner played 100 percent of the snaps while rookie Dylan Fairchild took a seat. 
• Noah Fant took 68 percent of the offense’s snaps with Mike Gesicki out for the year. 
• Chase Brown had a big game but was very much in a rotation, taking 63 percent of the snaps while Samaje Perine got 37 percent.

• At corner with CTB benched, DJ Turner played 98 percent of the snaps, Dax Hill got 100 percent and Josh Newton 46 percent. Backups DJ Ivey and Marco Wilson combined for 11 snaps. 
• The Bengals pulled rookie linebacker Demetrius Knight at one point, landing him on 84 percent. Veteran Oren Burks got 11 percent. Rookie Barrett Carter played all 57 snaps.
• Benched last week, Logan Wilsongot 46 percent of the snaps. 
• First-round pick Shemar Stewart, in his first game back from injury, played 22 snaps. Myles Murphy played 74 percent with Trey Hendrickson out.
