Nottingham Forest are set to host at City Ground in their next match on October 18.

Forest appointed Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on September 9, following the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, who led the club to their first qualification in a European competition in three decades.

Back in June, Postecoglou was dismissed by after his two-year managerial tenure there, despite leading the North London club to their first major trophy in 17 years.

Since his arrival at the English side, Postecoglou has not led Forest to a victory in all seven of their matches across competitions so far, which has brought in heavy criticism, along with fans openly expressing their frustrations over the club's form under the 60-year-old manager.

Nottingham's struggles under Postecoglou have also led to sacking rumors, with reports suggesting that Forest are also shortlisting potential managerial replacements.

Now, ahead of Forest's game on Saturday, Postecoglou addressed his situation at the club, mentioning that 'the story always ends the same with him and a trophy.'

What did Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou say?

During his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou was asked by reporters if any talks about his future were held during the recent international break with the club authorities. To which he replied,

"No talks, we just get on with it," as per BBC Sport.

"I was told by Spurs we have to win a trophy and they are trying something different. This is a different story to tell and maybe I am not a failed manager but one if you give time, the story always ends the same with me and a trophy."

"I just don't fit. Not here but just in general. If you look at it through the prism that I'm a failed manager who is lucky to get this job – I know you are smirking at me but that has been said and I can find the print [that says it] – then of course these five weeks look like I'm under pressure."

Postecoglou spoke about the importance of the upcoming game against Chelsea and said,

"It is always important to win the next game, we are facing a very good opponent. We've had a good few weeks training and everyone has come back [from the international break] in good condition."

On the topic of the prevailing criticism surrounding him and his squad, Postecoglou candidly admitted that he will go on with his own plans and judgment and added,

"I will do what I think is the right thing to do to bring success to this club."

It remains to be seen if Postecoglou is able to secure his first win as Nottingham's manager on Saturday.
