Sei Young Kim holds a commanding 54-hole lead at BMW Ladies Championship

Sei Young Kim nearly hit for the cycle during Saturday's third round of the 2025 BMW Ladies Championship.

Sei Young Kim nearly hit for the cycle on Saturday.

Kim made four bogeys, five birdies and an eagle en route to signing for a rollercoaster 3-under 69 in the third round of the BMW Ladies Championship at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam, South Korea. But thanks to a blistering 62 on Thursday and a solid 66 Friday, Kim will enter the final round at 19 under for the tournament, four shots clear of the field.

Kim, a 32-year-old from Seoul, is feeling right at home in her native country.

"I have many family members that came to see me as well as my friends," Kim said after her round on Saturday. "Really, it has been a while since I played golf with this many [people in the] gallery on the course. I play in Korea every year but not as much in the last group that I have been playing [this weekend]. It has been really, really good and really feeling so much good energy and happiness, finding really great happiness playing as a golf player."

Players battled brutal winds on the southern coast of South Korea throughout the day, leading Kim to compare it to the types of conditions they face when playing shoreline courses in the U.K.

"A lot of wind today," Kim said. "It really was a difficult round. The more I think, it really looks like the ones in Wales, the course condition and the level of difficulty, it really was similar. I was thinking maybe the wind wasn't as strong in Wales compared to this one, so that was my line of thought. Nevertheless, I had many chances and good ones.

Kim has made all but four cuts in the 18 events she's played this season while racking up seven top-10 finishes, but she's still seeking her first win of 2025, which would be the 13th victory of her decorated pro career.

American Yealimi Noh and Japan's Nasa Hataoka will enter Sunday's final round tied for third at 15 under, but they'll likely need Kim to stumble several times to have a chance of catching her.

Noh is looking for her second win of her career and her second of the season. She was victorious at the Founders Cup back in February, the very first event on the 2025 schedule. She hope to play well Sunday and carry that momentum into next week's International Crown, where she'll represent Team USA as a replacement for the injured Nelly Korda.

"[I feel] really great," Noh said Saturday. "Just happy I'm hitting it well. Want to be [playing like] this for my partner next week. I'm super excited. Just ready and really excited to keep it going next week."
