La Liga outfit Sevilla were on Saturday dealt a concerning setback on the injury front.
This came on a day to forget all told for the Nervionenses.
Sevilla marked their return to action this afternoon, welcoming RCD Mallorca to The Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán for a league clash.
The hosts opened the game’s scoring early on, courtesy of a strike on the part of the in-form Rubén Vargas.
From here, however, things quickly took a turn for the worse for Matías Almeyda’s troops.
Within the space of ten 2nd-half minutes, Mallorca rattled off a trio of goals, to ultimately emerge on the right side of a 3-1 result.
Not only that, but, en route to their latest defeat, Sevilla saw defender César Azpilicueta limp out of proceedings with an injury.
The former Chelsea man lasted less than five minutes, before limping off what what appeared to be a muscular problem.
Azpilicueta is likely facing up to an incoming spell on the sidelines as a result.
