We would venture to guess that quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping the Pittsburgh Steelers add a wide receiver before the Nov. 4 trade deadline.

The Steelers looked to have finally solved their wide receiver issue in the offseason after acquiring DK Metcalf in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, but Pittsburgh then turned around and sent George Pickens packing to the Dallas Cowboys, leaving the team short at the position once again.

Wide receiver has been an issue since last season, when Pickens was in the same boat Metcalf is in now as the top dog in a thin room. The Steelers attempted to address their need by trading for Mike Williams, but that failed spectacularly.

Looking ahead to this year's deadline, the Steelers should be even more motivated to land someone now that Rodgers has proven to be a massive upgrade, which in and of itself makes this year's Steelers better than last year's.

The latest Steelers trade rumor comes from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, who reports that general manager Omar Khan is indeed scouring the market for a wideout.

The Steelers are, once again, in the market for a receiver, sources say. Their offense has thrived by featuring multiple tight ends, but the addition of a speed threat to pair with DK Metcalf would help Aaron Rodgers and the offense.

Some of the top names we've seen floated as potential trade candidates are the Miami Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle, the New Orleans Saints' Chris Olave and the Las Vegas Raiders' Jakobi Meyers, all of whom would be varying degrees of upgrades.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, Waddle is unlikely to be available, Rapoport reports, and the same can be said for Olave after The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported the Saints are actually trying to extend him.

Meyers appears the most likely to be available, as Russini notes the Raiders are open to trading him.

He definitely isn't the sexiest option of the three, but Meyers would still amount to a huge upgrade after his impressive track record of production in the face of working with quarterbacks who couldn't tie Rodgers' shoes.
