Record-breaking Liverpool forward is Real Madrid's ULTIMATE dream signing

Liverpool are going to have to safeguard against Real Madrid’s interest in several of their current stars.

First and foremost, there is danger concerning Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman is out of contract in 2026 and it’s no secret that the Spanish capital club would love to add the centre-back as a high-profile free transfer.

Then there are midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister - who are also attracting interest from the 15-time European champions.

Gravenberch, 23, is in line for a new contract at Anfield - with his current deal expiring in 2028 - and Madrid will be watching very careful for any breakdown in renewal talks.

Real Madrid paying attention to Wirtz situation

For Mac Allister, Liverpool may consider a sale in the next year or two in case he cannot get back to his best form. But there is an intriguing case emerging around another one of Liverpool’s players.

It’s attacker Florian Wirtz- who arrived over the summer for a then-British record fee that could reach £116m over the summer.

Wirtz, 22, was one of the most sought-after talents in European football while at Bayer Leverkusen - helping his side to an unbeaten league and cup double in 2024.

That put him on the radar of not only Liverpool but also Real Madrid and Manchester City - with Liverpool ultimately winning the transfer battle for the Germany international.

Wirtz is Xabi Alonso's ULTIMATE dream

Wirtz has endured a difficult start to his Reds’ career - without a goal or an assist to this point - and it’s something that Real Madrid are paying attention to.

Xabi Alonso brought the best out of Wirtz during his successful stint as Leverkusen manager - and it’s been described as his “ultimate dream” to be reunited with the playmaker at the Bernabeu.

“The Basque coach has always been a great supporter of Wirtz, and unleashed his immense potential at Bayer Leverkusen,” a report reads in Defensa Central.

Wirtz on five-year Anfield deal

“His ultimate dream would be to bring him to Real Madrid so he could continue to participate in his development.”

Wirtz signed a five-year contract at Anfield last summer - extending until 2030 - and there is NO question that sporting director Richard Hughes is seeking to ship him out.

It will take the creative attacker a little bit of time to get up to speed with the pace and physicality of the Premier League and once he does so he will once again establish himself as one of the best attackers in the global game.
