MHSAA girls golf state finals: Lansing Catholic finishes as Division 4 runner-up

Okemos finishes third in Division 1, while Bath's Addilyn Duflo ends season as state runner-up.

Behind three golfers finishing among the top 20 overall, the Lansing Catholic girls golf team ended its season as the Division 4 state runner-up on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Ferris State’s Katke Course.

The Cougars had a two-day total of 746 and finished a stroke behind team champion Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian.

Addi Rule led the success for the Cougars and was sixth individually with her two-round score of 173. She had a seven-stroke improvement in the final round by shooting an 83 while capping her career with a top-10 finish.

Freshman Eryn O’Connell placed 12th with a score of 185 and sophomore Anna Robinson shot a 192 for the weekend while placing 19th.

Bath freshman Addilyn Duflo was the top placing individual from Greater Lansing and capped her debut season of varsity golf as the state runner-up. She shot a 160 for the weekend and finished five strokes behind medalist Anna McCubbins of Napoleon.

Duflo’s strong weekend helped Bath place sixth as a team with a score of 782.

Fowler junior Noelle Krepps, who qualified for the state finals as an individual, also finished in the top 10. Krepps placed seventh and shot a 177.

Olivet senior Jocelyn Rolston placed 23rd as an individual with a two-day score of 193.

DIVISION 1

Okemos had its top two golfers finish in the top five individually while concluding its season with a third-place finish Saturday, Oct. 18 at the state finals at The Meadows at Grand Valley State.

The Wolves had a two-day score of 674 and was two strokes behind runner-up Macomb Dakota. Northville shot a 643 for the weekend while finishing as the team champion.

Freshman Saisha Patil led the strong showing for Okemos and was third individually with a score of 153. She finished a stroke out of second place and five strokes behind medalist Annie Flavin of Plymouth.

Sophomore Anika Srivastava was two strokes behind Patil and shot a 155 for Okemos while placing fifth.

Holt sophomore Racheeni Her finished just outside the top 10 and ended her season by taking 12th with a score of 161.

DIVISION 2

Mason finished ninth and Owosso placed 11th in the team standings at the Division 2 state finals at Bedford Valley in Battle Creek.

Mason shot a 746 as a team and improved its score by eight strokes during its final round Oct. 18. Owosso had a 17-stroke improvement in the second round while finishing with a two-round total of 753.

Owosso freshman Samantha Ross led the individual finishers and ended the weekend tied for eighth with a score of 158. She shot a 79 in both rounds.

Mason also had top-20 finisher with sophomore Ruby Petee placing 19th with a score of 171.

DIVISION 3

Williamston junior Paige Radebach concluded her season by placing ninth at the state finals at Michigan State’s Forest Akers West on Oct. 18.  Radebach shot a 169 for the weekend and had the best score among the golfers who qualified for the state finals as individuals.

Ionia junior Lila Redder finished 12th individually and had a two-day score of 172.

Charlotte finished 14th in the team standings and was led by junior Peyton Howarth placing 24th with a score of 185.
