Dunlap put its whole team in, Metamora won its sectional and 19 girls from the Peoria qualified for the IHSA girls tennis state finals.
Dunlap qualified all six members of its team for the Illinois High School Association girls tennis state finals with a sweep of its home sectional this weekend.
The Eagles rolled up 35 points to win the sectional team title, with Notre Dame next at 19.
Metamora hosted and won its sectional as well, edging Normal U-High by two points, while Morton finished third.
The IHSA class 1A and 2A girls tennis state finals are Oct. 23-25 at various sites around the Chicago suburbs.
Here's a look at the Peoria-area qualifiers, listed by school:
Dunlap
Dunlap won its fourth straight Mid-Illini Conference championship in a sweep, then followed by qualifying all of its team with a Dunlap Sectional title.
Sophomore Anna Yu beat her teammate, senior Alassea Michel, 6-2, 6-2 in the Dunlap Sectional championship match. Both players qualified for Class 1A state with that result, and Yu goes with a 34-4 record while Michel is 34-7.
Dunlap got doubles tandem junior Isabella Gusso and freshman Katherine Brewer to state with a championship win in the sectional. Eagles senior tandem of Melaina Humbles and Berkeley Stigall finished third in sectional doubles to qualify for state.
Notre Dame
Notre Dame teammates sophomore Madelyn Monge and sophomore Bianca Cisel finished third and fourth, respectively, in singles play at the Dunlap Sectional. Both qualified for Class 1A state finals.
Metamora
Metamora senior Lauren Poole qualified for the IHSA Class 1A state finals with a championship victory in the Metamora Sectional. She beat teammate and fellow senior Lexi Burton, who also qualified for state.
The Redbirds sent a doubles tandem to state, too, as senior Tayla Brown and senior Naomi Roth teamed up to finish fourth in the Metamora Sectional.
Morton
Morton junior Chloe Kendall battled out a state qualifier spot with a third-place finish in the Metamora Sectional. Potters doubles partners senior Caela Myers and sophomore Faith Osterman finished third in the sectional to qualify for state.
Richwoods
The Knights are in IHSA Class 2A play, and they qualified a doubles tandem for the state finals. On the way north are seniors Addison Sharpe and Leah Shaffer, who finished fourth in the doubles draw at the Normal Community Sectional.
Normal won its sectional, while Richwoods finished fourth, in a tie with Pekin.
LaSalle-Peru
L-P put a doubles tandem into the state finals tournament when senior Dagny Greer and junior Julia Garcia grabbed third in the Ottawa Township Sectional.
The team finished third in that class 1A sectional.
