The regular season is in the books in Iowa high school football, and with it, we need to determine a Class 1A player of the year through just the regular season.

The class will kick-start playoff action this coming Friday with all roads leading to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.

Here are the nominees for the Iowa high school football player of the regular season in 1A:
Nominees for 1A Iowa High School Football Player of the Year
Coy Moline, Manson Northwest Webster: The Cougars went unbeaten in district play again, as Moline became the offensive focal point. The junior rushed for 1,117 yards and scored 13 touchdowns.
Mick Hoffman, Cascade: Hoffman had a senior regular season to remember, throwing for a 1A-leading 2,066 yards and 30 touchdowns with just two interceptions on 243 attempts.
Peyton Welch, South Hardin: Welch racked up 1,653 yards passing and 20 touchdowns, completing 65 percent of his passes. He also has four rushing TDs.
Kyle Tracy, Iowa City Regina: Tracy hardly played a full game most weeks, but he was still able to throw for 1,399 yards and 21 passing touchdowns, completing an incredible 77 percent of his passes.
Judd Jirovsky, Grundy Center: The center of the longest win streak in Iowa, Jirovsky has thrown for 1,084 yards and 17 TDs on 76 percent completion percentage with just one interception.
Braylon Bingham, Pleasantville: One of the top athletes in the state, Bingham has thrown for 1,046 yards and 12 TDs, adding 581 yards passing and five more touchdowns. He has made 34 tackles on defense with a punt return for a score.
Brady Otting, Cascade: Otting has been unstoppable, catching 41 passes for 715 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging over 17 yards per reception.
Carson Mueggenberg, Ogden: The senior recorded 21 tackles for loss and nine sacks, making 47.5 tackles.
