Many Blues fans have been unhappy with the current sporting directors at the club overall and they have come under a lot of criticism since they’ve been at the club. They will be hoping this new hire is one person coming in who will have the overall say on football operations which I believe is needed at this club.

The Athletic report that Chelsea in talks to appoint Dave Fallows to senior sporting leadership role. The ex-Liverpool director left Liverpool last October – likely to join Chelsea to work with existing execs on areas including scouting, player pathways, football development.

A range of duties

The Telegraph add that Fallows is expected to have a range of duties including scouting and data, player development pathways and loans, and football operations. The latter is expected to include recruitment of coaches and staff as well as players.

Fallows has a good reputation during his time at Liverpool and he helped build the successful Jurgen Klopp side.
