Broncos' (projected) depth chart for today's game vs. Giants

Here's a look at the Broncos' (projected) depth chart for today's game against the Giants.

The Denver Broncos released an updated depth chart ahead of their game against the New York Giants in Week 7, but it unfortunately arrived before the team made a flurry of roster moves last week.

Denver added safety J.T. Gray, offensive lineman Calvin Throckmorton and linebacker Dre Greenlaw to the active roster, so we've included them below, but their placements are not official until we get another update to the depth chart, which won't come until after the Giants game.

Fans should also note that while this depth chart comes straight from the team, the Broncos still call it an "unofficial" depth chart, and it should be taken with a grain of salt. It's roughly a reflection of how coach Sean Payton stacks up each position, but there are clearly a few exceptions.

Denver Broncos Depth Chart

Broncos depth chart

Quarterback (2)

Bo Nix enters Year 2 looking to build on his promising rookie season.

Running back (4)

Denver also has Deuce Vaughn available on the practice squad.

Tight end/fullback (4)

Lucas Krull (foot) is currently on injured reserve. He's eligible to return in Week 9.

Wide receiver (5)

Sutton (48) and Franklin (35) continue to lead the wide receiver snaps, but Bryant (35) was more involved on Sunday. Mims (21) has seen his role decline on offense, and Sherfield (14) is clearly WR5.

Offensive line (8)

  • LT: Garett Bolles, Matt Peart
  • LG: Alex Palczewski, [Calvin Throckmorton]
  • C: Luke Wattenberg, Alex Forsyth
  • RG: Quinn Meinerz, Alex Palczewski
  • RT: Mike McGlinchey, Frank Crum

It looks like Palczewski will be the new starter at left guard, but we don't yet know where Throckmorton will land on the depth chart.

Defensive line (7)

  • DE: Zach Allen, Jordan Jackson
  • DT: D.J. Jones, Malcolm Roach
  • DE: John Franklin-Myers, Eyioma Uwazurike, Sai'vion Jones

Roach returned from IR last week and he's a key rotational defensive lineman behind the three starters.

Outside linebacker (5)

Robinson made his NFL debut last week and he totaled two tackles.

Inside linebacker (4)

Justin Strnad will likely start next to Alex Singleton again on Sunday as Greenlaw eases back into action.

Cornerback (5)

Surtain (57) and Moss (57) continue to play all the defensive snaps at the outside cornerback spots. McMillian (32) remains the nickelback with Barron (11) getting rotational snaps in the secondary.

Safety (6)

We'll find out where Gray fits in the safety rotation once the depth chart is updated.

Special teams (3)

  • KWil Lutz
  • P: Jeremy Crawshaw
  • LS: Mitchell Fraboni
  • KR: Marvin Mims, Jaleel McLaughlin, Tyler Badie
  • PR: Marvin Mims, Riley Moss

Harvey still isn't listed as a backup returner on the depth chart despite returning 10 kickoffs for 238 yards this season.
