Inter star Barella’s words on Chivu are worth more than any top signing

Inter knew they had built an important squad this summer, reinforcing their attack with Bonny and Pio Esposito as true alternatives to Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram – a clear step forward compared to last season. But sometimes the most decisive additions are not players at all. In this case, it is Cristian Chivu, and the validation has come from the dressing room itself.

After Inter’s victory away to Roma, Nicolò Barella delivered the kind of message that speaks louder than any marquee signing.

The midfielder publicly praised his coach, saying:

“He has been a great example for us, because in his career he has lived through both disappointments and great victories. Nobody could have helped us through this rebirth better than him.”

Barella comments reflect regeneration at Inter

Those words cut through all the early scepticism that surrounded Chivu’s appointment. Barella, one of the leaders of the squad, has effectively certified Inter’s most important “signing”.

He is a coach who has entered the players’ minds, freed them from the weight of last season, and restored calm and belief after the Champions League heartbreak.

Comments like these are worth as much as buying a striker who scores 20 goals a year, because the bond between coach and players is the foundation on which trophies are built.

And with Chivu, Inter feel they finally have that unity again.
