The San Francisco 49ers haven't had their starting quarterback, Brock Purdy for most of the 2025 season, but that hasn't been an issue because the Niners have backup signal-caller Mac Jones.
Jones has now started five games for the Niners this season and has won four of them after the 20-10 Week 7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
Jones definitely didn't have his best game as a Niner, completing just 17-of-26 passes for 152 yards and one interception, but he did more than enough to secure the victory thanks to a stellar showing from San Francisco's defense and running back Christian McCaffrey.
But the sweet taste of victory isn't the only thing great about the Sunday night win for Jones. Thanks to an incentive in his contract that gives him extra money if he wins four starts, Jones earned a cool $400,000 after beating the Falcons.
Adding to that, Jones will earn another $100,000 for each win after his fourth. That is just an absurd amount of money.
49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan has long been a fan of Jones, so it came as no surprise that San Francisco signed him in free agency to back up Purdy.
Jones has proven to be a great fit in Shanahan's system and he has more than kept the team afloat while Purdy recovers from a turf toe injury.
Entering Week 7, Jones had completed 67.3% of his passes for 1,252 yards and six touchdowns to three interceptions. He sports a 4-1 record overall as the starter in place of Purdy. Meanwhile, Purdy is 1-1.
After he looked to be down-and-out after striking out with the New England Patriots, Jones has managed to revive his career with the Niners and could draw trade interest during the 2026 offseason.
